Our Education Mission

The Problem

Artificial Intelligence holds an immense potential to address these challenges. I am building a platform that will provide educational resources to students in these countries and equip them with a personal 1-on-1 tutor.

Why am I Working on This

I come from Benin Republic, West Africa. Half of the population of my country is illiterate (World Bank). I have seen first hand the challenges that students face in the region. I have also seen the impact that a good education can have on a person's life. I am working on this project because I believe that every child deserves a good education, no matter where they are born and no matter the language they speak.

Our Goals

Our mission is to develop innovative platforms and educational resources tailored to the local context and language of the students. We aim to make it available to as many students as possible, regardless of their socio-economic background. We are building ccutting edge AI-solution to solve this critical problem.

My Assumptions

I believe that there is an untapped pool of talent that is not being utilized because of a language barrier. In Benin for example, the people that do not speak French (basically half the population) cannot really get an education, nor acquire skills that would allow them to thrive in the world. We need to leverage the translation capabilities we are building at AKILLI to bridge this gap and allowing people to access information in a language familiar to them.

For the children that do speak French, a lot of them still actually understand better when spoken in their native languages (Fongbe, Adjagbe, Yoruba, Bariba etc). It is crucial to provide educational resources in these languages to ensure that they can learn effectively.
